Shamanic Training

Like anything from the earth, we are born and are very helpless. We need our mothers, fathers and family to take care and nurture us. They start showing us the ways to be on this earth. Spiritual training is the same thing. We are babies, and just came out of the womb into a new world, the shamanic world. We need to be shown how to work with the elementals; how to work with the fire. This training is a part of our schools. These are the indigenous universities.

The Maya had incredible schools of various specializations: astronomy, medicine, art, literature, and engineering. We also had the mystery schools that in many countries have been wiped out because of religion. The mystery schools of the shaman are alive and still very strong among the indigenous people. Here is where we learn the ceremonies, the activities that link us to the natural, supernatural, elemental and spiritual worlds.

In these trainings we start to understand a new language. A language of the elementals. What are the elementals saying? When you are next to a spring or a creek and you hear the sounds of the water, what is the water saying to you? We begin to work with the water. We learn how to keep it pure and clean. We learn how the water travels and what the water needs in order to support it's mission. We learn how to become like the water; adaptive yet strong. We learn to share, transmit, transport and evaporate. We learn to work as the water works.

The training with the fire is similar. Its an elemental; a relation straight from the sun. The fire gives us energy, light, warmth, and incredible power. But we do not understand it deeply. We begin to listen to the fire. We hear it crackle the wood, and the soft sounds of the flame. We learn how to bring fire into our world, we learn what it needs in order to sustain itself, and we learn how to unlock the deeper mysteries within it's vortex. We learn to read the sky, the clouds, and the stars.

The Maya also have an incredible calendar that is able to predict many events on planetary, solar, galactic, and cosmic scales. No one can say that the sun is not hot or the sun doesn't have a precise mathematical equation in which the earth rotates and marks the day in and day out of the year of the sun. It exists as a truth. These truths compose the teachings of the Maya and other indigenous people. We see ourselves as scientists and researchers. We teach the mathematical formulas of the calendrics. We teach the sacred geometry of the calendar and our architecture, and how all life is connected through that. We teach these things so that we can heal and do our sacred work: the evolution of souls, the protection of ourselves or our families, and this beautiful world we live in. The training is not only very esoteric, scholarly and technical but it is ultimately experiential.

What does the frequency of 'one' feel like? What is it to become 'one'? What does it mean to be in duality? What does it mean to be in trinity, a triangle relationship? What is it to stand in the middle of the four pillars and feel the energy within the square? How is it to fly and go through the five pointed star? What is it to be in the elemental frequency of 'six'? All these things are a part of the training. There is a lot to learn. These are the ancient teachings.

To undertake this path means you have to train very hard. You cannot just read a book, have one, two or three experiences and think that you can take others into these worlds, especially if it involves medicines, or ceremonies. We are dealing with incredible forces, supernatural beings, and elementals. What if you start your fire and you burn down your sweatlodge? What if you burn or kill people in your sweatlodge? People get overdosed because they do not know how to use the medicine. They can go crazy. This is something that we have heard all the time.

We need to encourage all our relations that they shouldn't feel the need to take a shortcut. Taking the shortcut will find yourself not prepared to deal with the spiritual forces, the challenges, the burn-out, or, at worst, psychosis; someone totally losing their way in another dimension.

We all need to know how to get through that. We learn how to do 'door in and door out' so everyone has a beautiful experience. For many it is going to be challenging, but it doesn't have to be hard. It doesn't have to be a trauma. Its good to be able to go through a challenge. The human world needs to readapt to the natural, spiritual and ceremonial ways - the shamanic ways. The training we offer is step by step through this ancient knowledge. It becomes a wisdom and experience to realize your highest prayer. You will feel it, sense it, witness it, know it and then become it. We must become our prayer, the change you want to see in the world. Say your prayer from the peak of the mountains that you have climbed and you will see it echo all over the world.

Nine Fires

The spiritual guides and teachers of the Maya have maintained their ceremonial initiations through a series of individual sacred Mayan Fire Ceremonies. This initiation is dedicated to the preservation of our ceremonial life, to be shared with initiates from All of our Peoples. We have been asked to share the fire in this way so that we can create powerful, lasting spiritual alliances and work toward the preservation of our Mother Earth and all our Relations by sharing sacred ways that individuals can use for their own healing and empowerment. This process does not make anyone an Aj Q'ij (ceremonial leader), and is to only be used personally. This does not give anyone permission to lead these ceremonies for others!

The nine ceremonial fires are designed to introduce the individual into sacred rites and to learn about the sacred Mayan Fire Ceremony. This is an experiential teaching. Specifically, it is designed to create conditions that facilitate incredible healing and to reach greater depths of the Spirit and psyche, by bringing great spiritual moments of connectedness with the Spirit and deep truth. The Nine Fires are designed to heal, purify, empower, and teach. The fires can give an overview of different experiences that can be supernatural or allow in incredible powers that will help us through our lives. These fires are transformative by nature, and often challenges come in to test the endurance, commitment, and beliefs of the individual in its relationship to Creator, the elements, and all life. Like life itself, this process takes us through all emotions and experiences, and the commitment is to be flexible: stay present with what comes up, observe it, and let it go, so that by the time we complete the ninth fire, we are ready to birth into a new way of being.

These are the sacred Mystery Schools of the Maya that create spiritual and community leaders, spiritual guides, and ceremonial leaders. The training is to focus on personal healing, self-empowerment, and to open spiritual doors that can guide us for the rest of our lives.
